he sun shone hazily in a large grass field in Southern Colorado when a young Noël decided to abandon her aspirations of becoming a veterinarian and instead set her sights on becoming a web marketer.
“It is what the world needed,” she said. “I always imagined that I would have an impact on the global economy, I just didn’t know how until then.”
After four strictly educational years at the University of Northern Colorado, Noël left the comfort of the cozy college town and moved to the big city of Denver to transform her goals into realities.
“As I finished packing the last of my material belongings into my 1993 Mercury Topaz named Shiva, I hoped that my degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations and Advertising with a double minor in Speech Communication and History and years of participation in Student Government, writing for the school newspaper, winning several personal and academic awards, volunteering with the Women’s center on campus and being the secretary/treasurer for the high-powered Colorado Student Association had prepared me for what was to come,” she said.
What Noël had expected was not what she experienced after arriving in the big city. She accepted a position at a medical research facility as a receptionist and secured a small one bedroom apartment without a view. The receptionist position was not a good fit with her skills, and her apartment was always uncomfortably hot or cold due to an ever-broken thermostat. She found herself losing hope.
“I thought organizing and coordinating the testing of drugs on people was the path for me, but I was wrong…dead wrong,” she said.
After six months working at the medical facility, Noël found Page 1 Solutions. It was the big break she was looking for. She was hired as the second account manager for the firm and immediately started to flourish in her position.
“Working with Plastic Surgeons, Cosmetic Dentists, Ophthalmologists and Attorneys expanded my personal and professional knowledge about the medical and legal industries,” she said.
Promoted to Senior Account Manager in January of 2008, Noël spends her days overseeing several dozen accounts by serving as the liaison between the clients and the other departments, managing new website design and optimization projects, creating new website marketing strategies for existing clients, analyzing statistical marketing data, running the weekly account manager meetings, mentoring new account managers, managing and updating the account manager blog, and serving as a departmental information resource.
“This is what it is all about. Making stuff happen for people is good and when you make good stuff happen for people, it is great. Good to great. That’s my philosophy,” she said.
Noël is super-happily married to her husband Casey who she has known for over 5 years. Together, they live in jubilation with an unappreciative Maine Coon Feline named Mowbray. In their spare time, Casey and Noël enjoy playing racquetball, camping in the summer, snowball fights in the winter and reading and writing satire in the spring and fall.
